Unity And Strength

Our Programs

At MQA, our programs are rooted in one belief: that everyone deserves access to care, stability, and community on their own terms. Each of our programs was built in response to real, urgent needs we see across rural and tribal Montana —and each one reflects our commitment to low-barrier, culturally responsive support that meets people where they are.

    Common Ground Housing

Common Ground Housing advances housing stability through a housing justice lens rooted in dignity, safety, and self-determination. We support people who are most often locked out of stable housing options in rural and frontier Montana  including Indigenous people living on or off reservations, people living with HIV, and people experiencing chronic illness or disability. From emergency rent support to housing navigation and landlord advocacy, Common Ground works to remove the barriers that keep people from safe, stable places to land.

      Better Fit

Better Fit supports our community members in accessing clothing and affirming essentials that reflect who they are. We know that having clothing that fits, physically and personally, is about more than appearance. It is about safety, dignity, and the ability to move through the world as yourself.

        Prickly Pear Rapid Testing

Prickly Pear Rapid Testing is MQA's free, fast, and confidential STI testing program, offered in partnership with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. With mobile clinic options and statewide scheduling, Prickly Pear brings harm reduction and sexual health care directly to communities that have historically had to go without. No barriers, no judgment, just care that sticks with you.

          Community Education

Our Community Education Program builds knowledge and shared language across Montana communities. Through trainings, outreach, and community-driven learning, we work to increase understanding of LGBTQIA2s+ and BIPOC experiences, reduce harm, and strengthen the relationships that make long-term safety and belonging possible. Education is not a side project for us, it is part of how we do justice. You can book our Executive Director to come provide trainings and education to you.

            Group Reading Together

Montana Queer Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations support our ongoing programs and are tax-deductible where applicable.
