Clinical Incubator Program

Through the Incubation Project, SWLCs, PCLCs, and LAC-Cs will be able to provide counseling under the supervision of our in house LCSW Clinical Director. They will receive regular supervision, case consultation, and mentorship from experienced staff who understand both the realities of frontline mental health work and the unique needs of LGBTQIA2s+ plus and BIPOC communities. Instead of trying to figure things out alone in private practice, candidates will be guided and encouraged to take healthy risks, ask questions, and develop their own clinical voice.

Clinical Incubation at MQA means more than supervision hours. It means being part of a small, values driven team that centers safety, identity, and community connection. Candidates will gain hands on experience working with diverse clients across the lifespan, including individuals, couples, and families, with a strong focus on trauma, minority stress, and systemic oppression. They will also learn how to navigate things like integrated care, community partnerships, case management collaboration, and harm reduction work, which are critical skills for practice in Montana.

The Incubation Project is also designed to remove some of the structural barriers that make it hard for new clinicians to get started. MQA provides the clinical infrastructure needed to see clients, including access to our electronic health record, scheduling tools, intake systems, templates, and billing support. This allows candidates to focus their energy on learning, building clinical competence, and caring for clients, rather than being overwhelmed by administrative demands.
